What I do!

Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

Policeman on far right looks surprised, turns to the two officers on his left.

POLICEMAN

“Thirteen million bucks! For playing video-games?!”

TV SCREEN

Mia stands next to a Gamer official.

SECURITY WINDOW

INERIGATION ROOM

Mia’s Dad turns, looks up through the security window at the wall mounted TV. His eyes open wide.

V.O.(voice over)ANNOUNCER; “Gamers would be finalist, Mia….”

MIA’S DAD

“That’s my baby-girl, Ay!”

HOLDING AREA

Police officer walks pass Security Window looks up at the TV.

INTERIGATION ROOM

Female Interrogator, turns, looks up through Security Window at TV on wall.

TV SCREEN

V.O.(voice over)MIA’S DAD; “Ay! That’s my baby girl! On the left, ay!”

POLICE STATION RECEPTION AREA

Jack’s Dad, in a suit & tie walks with a POLICE OFFICER who appears frustrated.

JACKS DAD

“We’re, Canadians, ay!”

POLICE OFFICER

“Dumb-ass is what you are! Not filing a missing persons report?!”

JACK’S DAD

“Oh no, Officer! We just drove straight down, ay!”

NEARBY

OTHER POLICE OFFICER, laughs. Woman Officer next to him snickers.

OTHER POLICE OFFICER

“Ay!”

INT. STADIUM – CONVENTION CENTER – LAS VEGAS – DAY

O.S.(off screen) Gamer Song; “Snatcher!”

Jack sits off to the right in front of his screen, turns to Mia, enthusiastically flexes his biceps.

JACK

“Woohoo! 1up!”

Gamer song; “Chronet Trigger!”

Mia looks at Jack, appears genuinely impressed.

MIA

“You just escaped Bullet Hell!”

Jack sits shoulders slumped, sighs, stares expressionlessly at the screen.

JACK

“Hm……”

Mia turns, beams a smile at Jack, gives him a questioning look.

MIA

“What?”

JACK

“Jang Moon! My parents! The house!”

He turns to, Mia

V.O.(voice over) JACK; “Starting to overwhelm me.”

MIA

“Jack.”

COMPUTER SCREEN

Jacks computer screen, image of, “Cuphead” video game.

Jack turns to Mia.

MIA

“Beat Cuphead. That’s how you beat, Moon.”

Jack sits up, recomposes himself, looks Mia in the eyes, nods.

JACK

“You’re right. Lets go do this!”

INT. CENTER STAGE CONVENTION CENTER LAS VEGAS – NIGHT

O.S.(off screen)Gamer Song; “Final Fantasy!”

V.O(voice over) MALE ANNOUNCER; “We’re under way! World champ, Moon takes on Canada’s finest, Jack…..”

O.S.(off screen)Sound of Thousands of cheering fans, hand clapping.
