What I do!

Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

Robot, its eyes glow, face and mouth are smeared with dripping blood, it roars!

Jack and Mia sit on a couch, work remotes. Mia sets her remote down, turns to Jack with a coy look.

MIA

“You’re camping?!”

Jack looks away, smirks. He turns to Mia.

JACK

“I’m farming.”

Mia studies Jack, appears impressed, surprised.

MIA

“Buff!”

She reveals a mischievous smile, covers Jack’s eye’s with her hand.

MIA

“Now what do you see?!”

Jack laughs, sits back.

JACK

“Hmm…I smell…..hand sanitizer!”

Mia pulls her hand away, bends in two, laughs enthusiastically.

MIA

“Ha ha!”

Jack turns to Mia, looks her in the eyes. Mia pulls back.

MIA

“What?”

Jack appears deep in thought.

JACK

“Wish me luck.”

COMPETITION ROOM – CONVETION HALL

Jack sits alone remote in hand focused on his screen. A Canadian Maple leaf emblem on his left arm.

“Press start text,” populates Jacks screen.

Jack stands by the red wall, appears eager, looks straight ahead, smirks, puts video goggles on.

Marching band play their clarinets, march in a big parade.

CONVENTION CENTER – OTHER SIDE OF MAIN STREET – VEGAS

People enter and exit the Convention center. Other people traverse the sidewalk left to right.

Protesters parade behind the marching band.

O.S.(off screen) Muddled voices from protesters and music.

A float with a huge inflated dog and kittens pass by.

Mia’s Dad stares away, appears angry.

“I’m beginning to boil my top!”

People stand shoulder to shoulder, hoot and howl, jump and raise their hands celebration style.

Police cruisers parked curbside serve as shields between pedestrians and the Parade.

SIDEWALK ACROSS MAIN STREET FROM CONVENTION CENTER

V.O.(voice over) MIA’S DAD; “I’ll drop a bomb, ay! Clear a path straight to the door, ay!”

Police officer standing close by turns to Mia’s Dad.

Officer grabs Mia’s Dads hands, cuffs his wrist together behind his back.

POLICE OFFICER

“You have the right to remain silent!”

He escorts Mia’s Dad to police car.

MIA’S DAD

“I am Canadian from Canada, ay?! We don’t do that shit up there! Ay!”

POLICE CRUISER

Officer assists a handcuffed Mia’s dad into the backseat of the police car.

MAIN STREET

Second Police car pulls up, parks nose to nose with first police car, both cars lights flash.

SIDEWALK MAIN STREET

Mia’s Mom, cell-phone to her ear, has a look of disbelief. She frantically approaches the police car.

MIA’S MOM

“Ay, really?!”

SIDEWALK MAIN STREET

Jack’s Father and Mother appear concerned, they approach the police car on Main street.

JACK’S DAD

“We don’t do that shit up in Canada, ay?!”

MAIN STREET

Police car, drives door opens. Officer exits, looks angry, approaches Jack’s parents and Mia’s Mom.

POLICE OFFICER

“Unless you all wanna join your friend here?! Back off!”

INT. OFF TO THE SIDE – AUDITORIUM – CONVENTION CENTER – LAS VEGAS – DAY

Jack sits off to the side in front of his computer screen. He stands, shouts.

JACK

“Tank!”

Rider-less hoarse mounts up on its hindlegs in an open field, lunges forward in furry.

Jack sits in front of his computer, looks directly into the screen.

“I see you’ve brought your, Adds. Obviously, Bots!”

Menacing looking shirtless bald man, muscular, dressed for battle.

Jack sits back, grabs his head with a look of angst and frustration.

JACK

“Huh?!”

Mia approaches, sits in the chair next to Jack, gently touches his arm, she has a look of assurance.

Jack turns to her.

MIA

“Check your in box.”
