What I do!

Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

EXT. PARKING LOT – MOTEL – LAS VEGAS – DAY

O.S.(off screen )Gamer Song; “Through the fire and the flame!”

Taxi door opens, driver sticks his head out, looks at Mia’s parents.

TAXI DRIVER

“Good luck.”

Taxi door closes.

Taxi drives away.

Mia’s Mother points to the motel, her Father looks at his cellphone.

INT. MOTEL ROOM – LAS VEGAS – DAY

Mia’s Parents look around at the unkept dirty Motel Room.

MOTEL(same) – JACK’S PARENTS ROOM

Dad(jacks) enters, suitcase in hand. He looks back at Jack’s Mom.

DAD(jacks)

“Place is a shithole!”

Jack’s Mom peers in at an unkept dirty looking room, turns to her husband.

MOM(jacks)

“Really?!”

INT. RESTUARTANT – LAS VEGAS – DAY

Mia & Jack’s parents sit opposite sides of the breakfast table.

MOM(mia’s)

“Till we find those kids, we’re gonna hold ourselves together. That’s how we do it. Family first!”

Jack’s parents opposite side of the table smile, nod in agreement.

Dad,(mia’s) glass in hand, sips water.

DAD(mia’s)

“I’m gonna cut their f~n balls off!! That’s what I’m gonna do!”

DAD(mia)

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that!

DAD(mia’s)

“Not the kids, no! I mean, if anyone hurts them, Those People, I will Cut Their Balls Off!”

EXT. SIDE STREET – LAS VEGAS – DAY

O.S.(off screen) Song; “Silent Hill.”

Mia rides a skateboard through a parking lot, her eyes fixed straight ahead, she smiles, pushes off with one leg, accelerates, rolls along smoothly.

MIA

“On your right!”

SIDE STREET

Jack on a skateboard leans forward, both hands behind him, bends down, accelerates down hill.

V.O.(voice over) MIA; “I love you, Jack!”

Jack flashes a heavy metal sign.

Bends down, scoops his skateboard up, appears shy, reflective, turns to Mia.

JACK

“Ah,…..you ready?”

Jack and Mia look into each others eyes, gaze for a moment, smile.

MIA

“Ya.”

INT. STADIUM – COVENTION CENTER – LAS VEGAS – DAY

O.S.(off screen)Song; “Billboard Dance.”

Thousands of spectators in the stands watch Gamer compete on suspended big-screens. Spectators stand, wave their arms, cheer.

O.S.(off screen)Sound of…. “Thousands of cheering fans.”

BIG-SCREEN

Crowds cheer at the games in progress on the big screen.

“Good luck!”

Female opponent gives Mia dagger-eyes, gestures aggressively at Mia with remotes in her hands.

Mia, focused on Computer screen, moves quickly, tactfully. She turns to her opponent, smiles.

Official looking man stands behind a group of teenage men intensely focused on computer screens.

COMPETITION AREA

Two Guys push away from the computer screen. One grabs his head, other holds his face with both hands. Both have a look of disbelief and frustration.

Jack throughs his hands up, appears very happy, turns to Mia, smiles broadly.

JACK

“Cha-ching! Woo-hoo! Semi-finals here we come!”

Jack’s face looks serious. He looks into Mia’s eyes.

JACK

“And, I…….I…..L….

V.O.(voice over) MAN ANNOUNCER; “Semifinalist please advance to the front of the stadium!”

Jack looks at Mia, exhales, runs his hands through his hair.

JACK

“I guess we need to go to the front.”
