What I do!

Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

March 27, 2020

EXT. ISLAND – LAKE BLED – SLOVENIA – DAY

Morgan stands in a garden of white flowers, she smiles, appears appreciative. She reaches down, plucks a white flower, admires it.

John, nearby chrome pistol tucked into the waist of his khaki-pants sands next to the Hummer drivers door, reaches for the door-handle, opens it.

INT. HUMMER (parked) – DRIVERS-SEAT – DAY

John sits in the drivers seat, turns the ignition halfway, dash-lights go on. He looks at the gas-gauge. It reads, three-quarters-full. John looks up, appears to be in thought, turns to his left. Morgan stands at his window, she smiles broadly. Drivers window goes down.

John turns, smiles at Morgan. She reveals the white flower in her hand, offers it to him.

MORGAN

“For you.”

John smiles at her, appears smitten. He reaches through the open window, accepts the white-flower.

JOHN

“It’s beautiful, like you.”

He turns to the dashboard, puts the white-flower-stem into an air-vent, turns to Morgan.

JOHN

“I don’t know what to do, where to go. There’s no one we can talk to, accept you know who. And I think he’s one of them.”

Morgan’ listens intently, nods.

MORGAN

“He’ll talk.”

EXT. ISLAND – LAKE BLED – SLOVENIA – DAY

John, chrome-pistol in hand stands over Lebron, who sleeps on a cot, on his back under a gray-blanket. Morgan stands behind John, appears cautious. Lebron opens his eyes, blinks several times, focuses on the chrome-pistol in Johns hand.

JOHN

“Time to sing.”

Lebron, under the gray-blanket, looks past the gun, up at John, smirks.

LEBRON

“Did you know you can drink your own urine seven times before you lose the benefits of hydration?”

He peels the blanket back, wears a black T-shirt and jeans, sits on the cot, puts his bare-feet on the green-lawn next to a pair of brown-boat-shoes. John steps back, appears focused, cautious.

JOHN

“That’s far enough, smart-ass.”

Lebron looks up at John, has a confused look.

LEBRON

“Why bother? You know you-all ain’t gonna make it. It’s over.”

John, chrome-pistol in hand, aimed at Lebron, focused on him. Morgan gives Lebron dagger eyes.

MORGAN

“Then we go down in glory, mother-fucker!”
