Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

INT. SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE – WASHINGTON DC – DAY

John and Morgan look around at a demolished Smithsonian institute. They both appear sad. John turns to Morgan, looks around the room.

JOHN

“This is the one place anyone could come to and get answers for anything and everything. All of this worlds history and knowledge in one place.”

He turns to Morgan, appears reflective.

JOHN

“It’s all gone.”

Morgan appears sympathetic, nods.

O.S. (off screen) Dog barking.

John and Morgan both turn around, appear startled.

MORGAN

“A dog?”

ROOM NEXT DOOR

John and Morgan enter, look around a the debris from ceiling to floor.

O.S. (off screen) Dog barks.

John And Morgan turn to a pile of debris in the corner of the room, they both approach it. John pulls pieces of sheet-rock and wood from the pile.

O.S. Dog barks.

Morgan’s eyes widen, she smiles broadly. A dog in a cage wags its tale, appears happy to see Morgan and John. Morgan bends down, opens the cage door. The dog exits the cage, jumps on Morgan, licks her face. John bends down hugs the dog. The dog licks Johns face. Morgan studies the dogs neck area, turns to John.

MORGAN

“He, or she doesn’t have a collar?

John bends his head down, looks at the dog, studies it, turns to Morgan.

JOHN

“She’s a girl.”

Morgan smiles.

INT. OVAL-OFFICE – WHITE-HOUSE – DAY

John, Morgan stand in a vacant oval office, look at a cluttered presidents desk. They turn left look out the window, see the statue of Liberty.

They look to the right, see the Pentagon.

They turn back to the presidents desk, Morgan focuses in on an old document.

She picks up the old document, reads it. John stands by the window, pats the dog. Morgan’s face has a concerned look as she reads. She turns to John.

MORGAN

“John!”

MOMMENTS LATTER

John, stands next to Morgan, old-document in hand, reads. Morgan reads over Johns shoulder. Dog, lays on the floor next to them. Turns to Morgan, he appears surprised, has a look of disbelief.

JOHN

“This earth is their planet?! It belongs to them?!”

Morgan appears somber, nods.

MORGAN

“They were here long before us.”
