Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

INT. FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE (MOVING) DAY

O.S. (off screen) song, “Sympathy for the devil.” by Rollingstones.

John, drums-beats the steering-wheel, drives, wears cool-looking-sunglasses, bops to the music. Morgan sits in the passenger-seat, wears cool-looking-sunglasses, a backwards baseball-cap. She bops, snaps her fingers rhythmically. Her long brown hair blows in the wind.

They turn to each other, smile-broadly, connect. They both turn ahead to Rt 93 N. A line of vehicles in front of them one-by-one disappear into the tunnel.

EXT. BOSTON MASS – DAY

City skyline, brilliant sunlight. The sky turns dark gray. An explosion of brilliant-light fills the sky, fades to black.

INT. MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE – (moving) CALLAHAN TUNNEL – RT 93 N – BOSTON MA – DAY

Morgan, in the passenger seat looks up at the bright ceiling lights, she turns to the shiny-tiled-walls, she turns to John. He drives with both hands on the wheel, looks ahead, focused on bumper-to-bumper traffic ahead. She appears to admire him.

John drives, glances up at the tunnel lights, the cement ceiling.

OS (off screen) Loud rumbles of earth shifting and shaking.

The tunnel lights and the cement-ceiling shake violently. The ceiling cracks, large cement debris falls to the highway. John, turns, looks at the shiny-tiled-walls, they shake, crack, pop off the walls. He looks down at the highway in front of him, it cracks, splits. He turns to Morgan. She has a look of horror and panic.

He reaches for her hand, holds it firmly.

JOHN

“Get down on the floor under the dash! Now!”

SCREEN GOES BLACK

EXT. PRUDENTIAL BUILDING – BOYLSTON STREET – BOSTON MA – DAY

Glass entrance door bursts open, John and Morgan emerge. They’re dirty, disheveled, bruised, bloodied. Their cloths are torn, They drip with sweat and blood, they both wipe their foreheads, turn to each other, appear scared and tired. They embrace.

John turns left towards Mass ave. The street and sidewalks are vacant. John and Morgan turn right towards the commons. The street, sidewalks and commons are vacant.

EXT. CORNER OF NEWBURY & EXETER STREET – BOSTON MA – DAY

John and Morgan walk on a vacant side walk, they stop at the intersection of Exeter and Newbury street, look up at the traffic light. It flashes an image of a, “walking pedestrian.” They turn left, see an empty boutique store. They turn right, look across the street at several boutique stores side-by-side, all vacant. They turn left, see a vacant Newbury street, turn right, see a vacant Newbury street.

John and Morgan turn to one another. Their skin and hair Are dried with dirt and blood. They both rub their arms, shiver, appear cold.

MORGAN

“It’s so cold!”

John looks at Morgan, he appears confused, doubtful. He hugs her, rubs her arms and shoulders. Morgan looks scared. They embrace.

OS (Off Screen) Peels of loud thunder snap.

John and Morgan look up, heavy snow falls in a darkened sky. Lightning flashes.

Heavy snow, gusty winds. John and Morgan look up, shield their eyes from the snow storm. They observe an illuminating city in a clear like-bubble, miles in width. Beams of blue and yellow light reveal tall black cylinder-shaped buildings. The city descends slowly towards them.

OS (Off Screen) “Sound of robust throaty dual exhaust at an idle.”

John and Morgan turn to their right.

A military Hummer parked curb-side. The dark-tinted front-passenger-window goes down. Lebron sits in the passenger-seat, wears aviator-sunglasses. He turns to John & Morgan, reveals a broad smile.

John appears surprised. He gives Lebron a confused look.

JOHN

“Lebron?”

LEBRON

“Professor, John.”

He turns to Morgan. Her shoulders shake and shiver, she appears cold.

“Morgan.”

*NEXT SCENE; John and Morgan IN the Hummer with Lebron and, Asian Girl, to be introduced.*

Notes; Hummer scene, under carriage instant inflatable boat becomes high speed water vessel.
