Hey! Wanna create a screenplay together?

December 12, 2019

So, this concept. I wasn’t ready to give it the commitment it needed and deserved til I think,,,, maybe,,,,, now.

Oooh! Exciting!

CONCEPT; mind you this is not a screenplay. It’s a concept of a screenplay, very lose, airy with little content in terms of characters and elements for a screenplay. A concept is just a general, “look and feel.” If crafted well enough hopefully you can pitch your concept. Clearly and Provocatively.

Where? BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS.

Present day. A young man in his twenties drives a sporty convertible with the top down on a sunny day. Next to him is his young girl friend, in her twenties. They hold hands, smile. They’re on hwy 93 north in slow moving traffic. Ahead is the City of Boston skyline.

O.S. Song; “Silence,” Simone Garfunkel.

The sky above the city of Boston changes from sunny to gloomy & threatening. The Young couples car approaches a tunnel, disappears into it in bumper to bumper traffic.

SKY; A MASSIVE BURST OF LIGHT.

UNDERGROUND IN THE TUNNEL.

A bright yellowish lit tunnel with two lanes of steady moving traffic. The young couple look ahead, focused on the traffic in front of them.

O.S. song, “Silence,” Simone Garfunkel.

O.S. Loud rumbling sounds of earth shifting.

The tunnel walls, ceiling, the highway and all the cars shake in uni-sense. Young guy and girl in convertible look at each other, appear scared.

Black screen.

O.S. Sounds of Screeching brakes, cars crashing. Silence.

Young guy.

“You okay?”

Young Girl.

“I think so.?”

Young Guy.

“I see a shimmer of neon light.” “Take my hand, follow me.”

Young girl.

“I’m scared.”

*Scenes of Young couple struggling in darkness for days in a jigsawed-caved in underground. They miraculously work their way to Boston city surface.

ABOVE GROUND. BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS

Bright daylight, shadowy outlines of city buildings behind an orange-like ambient light. Yellow and blue streaks of light flash across the sky.

BOYLSTON STREET – PRUDENTIAL BUILDING – ENTRANCE. DAY

Young guy and Girl emerge from the Prudential entrance, disheveled, dirty, their cloths are torn and filthy. They shield their eyes from the brightness of brilliant light, turn left towards Mass ave. The sidewalks and Boylston street are vacant of people and cars. They turn right towards the common, vacant sidewalks and street.

lightning bolts flash down.

Young couple look up. They see the lightning-bolt connect with the peak of a building. A massive burst of light.

Young Guy and Girl look up to a royal purplish yellowish blue sky.

A massive crystal-like bubble(miles in width & height) with a gleaming magical modern looking crystal like city inside.

The massive magical like city approaches increasing in size rapidly right before their eyes.

To be continued. Oh boy, lot of work to do. Lol!

What are we gonna name this, “bad-boy”? The very next thing is to determine the plot and make it clear in the writing as the story develops. I have “that feeling” brewing inside, the birthing of a story is taking place right before our very eyes!

At this juncture, the beginning of our first act we can go in so many different places and directions with this story. The next scene is ripe for, “anything could happen.” It could be a quirky comedy, a love story, an against all odds, a suspense, a mystery? Whatever inspires you. In this case its whatever inspires, ME.

Open to suggestions comments or critiques.

See ya all soon with developments for our new story, including a name. Woo-hoo!
