What I do!

Mario Martin’s love for storytelling originated as a young boy when he felt inspired to tell stories through writing. At eighteen he shot his first film, “Checkmate.” That was the birthing of his passion for film-making and screenwriting.

Early on he honed his craft at the Maine Media Workshops and Boston Film & Video Foundation. Mario has attended many screenwriting boot-camps, worked with multiple coverage companies and many screenwriters.

What is a Screenplay?

June 11, 2019

Ya, so what is a screenplay anyway? Many people already know what a screenplay is, but I’m willing to wager more don’t. A screenplay is…..”a narrative of life.” When we say, “life” obviously that’s not always about people. This narrative can be about anything in your imagination, “anything.” Why? Because the imagination is an endless treasure chest of new and old, of things to come, new colors sounds smells and experiences. Obviously it’s more appealing when people are involved because your audience will always be people. Life is complex as are people. Our audience, “people” have a wide variety of interests. A screenwriter re-tells life and often makes it up with the use of imagination, hence fiction. I find it fascinating even spiritual when screenplays, fictional in genre that were written many years ago and became movies were almost prophetic as life catches up to the vision and life imitates art.
